Despite the May Day bank holiday being on the “chilly” side, the rain stayed away and several hundred of you attended the annual 1940’s event at Haden Hill Park in Cradley Heath. Thanks for the encouragement and the shouts for an encore at the end! We are hoping for better weather in August as the band return to The Laurels in Cradley for its annual jazz festival. Once again, always a great gig and we hope you can join us.
The band will also be going into the studio again in September to record some more original pieces for Simon Deeley Music. The plan is to release them all on a CD eventually. We’ll keep you posted when it is available.
The contractors building Moseley train station have finally finished, the station is now open and Moseley All-Services Club is getting its car park back! The club are spending a lot of money to return it to its former glory including re-decorating, new carpets throughout and an upgrade to the lighting. We will be returning for a concert there in October, so we hope you are able to join us for a great afternoon.
The band will also be going into the studio again in the next couple of months to record some more original pieces for Simon Deeley Music. The plan is to release them all on a CD later this year. We’ll keep you posted when it is available.
It’s all change in the trombone department again as Richard Bradley has joined the band on Bass Trombone. We are looking forward to his contributions in our forthcoming appearances.
See you soon!
